Last Friday, my department took me to Salute in downtown Hartford for a late birthday luncheon (my birthday was the week before). The food was EXCELLENT and the service, impeccable. I ordered the Shrimp Piccata which is a dish made with leeks, onions, garlic, capers and tomato in white wine, lemon and butter sauce over linguine. It was soooooo good! Because it was my birthday, the waiter threw in a complimentary slice of tiramisu with a candle and also gave me a bag of biscotti’s and 2 loaves of their famous garlic bread. It was a seriously wicked good day.
This is what I was wearing. In lieu of my regular dark wash denims, I chose these coral red ones and paired it with a croc-print blouse. I decided on colored denim because it was keeping with my self-imposed challenge to break away from my usual color palette of navy blue, gray and black. I’ll admit that the red pants turned a couple of heads in the office (I work in Hartford not New York City) but I swear that it was the red pants that sparked the wave of generosity from the waiters at the restaurant.
