There she is, NBC Fashion Star winning collection shirt designed by Kara Laricks. This shirt and the Kara Laricks, hi low hem dress is the second piece that I bought from H&M recently. The fabric is thick and may not be the best option when the heat index is super high. Because of that reason, I’ve given her a comfortable resting place in my closet right next to my other Fall ’12 pieces.
I love the simplicity and the retro vibe of the style. I grew up in the 80′s and the black stripe reminds me of those super skinny ties that were popular then. It also reminds me of a time when almost everything in my closet was just that, black or white. As cheap as it was ($19.95), I didn’t leave the store until I thought of three different ways to wear it. <——that was advice! Here are the three ways I wore this shirt.
How I Wore the Kara Laricks’ Shirt
I paired my favorite ripped jeans shorts (I am so glad that they still fit) and my new favorite shoe, my converse all stars from Nordstrom Rack for this casual look.

I wore it with an old black pencil skirt and neutral pumps to work .
I wore it with leather shorts and my glitter shoes from JustFab for an evening out.
How would you style this shirt? What was your favorite look of the three?

My favorite look is the work outfit, I like the simplicity of it. I am so glad she work fashion star. she was my fav – I thought it was cool she used to be a teacher. I would pair the shirt with a funky print pair of pants. thanks for stopping by – Carrie
Hooray! You are the first person that indicated that the work look was the best. I wore that look to work and then after to a Dress For Success event where I was serving as a volunteer. I never thought of pairing it with print. Great suggestion.

Hi Nenna,
Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts. Yes, this is definitely a classic piece. I wish they had different colors available. I would love to rock this with a red stripe. (-:

Hi Tavia,
Personally, my favorite look was the evening but the casual look seems to be the winning look so far. As always thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

Hi Tyesha. Ok, two votes for the casual. Lol! (-:
What a great post Natasha! I love when bloggers showcase different ways to wear a piece in their closet. I LOVE your evening look. This is a super cute blouse and the first thought I had when I saw it was the skinny tie illusion! LOL
Thanks Robin. I am glad you like the post. I am all about trying to make this blog more resourceful for everyone who stops here. Hopefully more people will find these posts more helpful.
