Wearing Floral Maxi Dress

in What I Wore

The maxi dress is a no fuss, effortless styling piece that works great during the day and evening. The dress also looks great on women of all ages, shapes and sizes. It is also a versatile piece that you can go ultra casual with or you can go for a dressier look by adding a statement necklace and matching accessories like I did here.

STYLE ADVICE —-> Because of the boho, evening, mixed identity of the dress, I don’t think that maxi dresses are appropriate for the office — even if you pair it with a cardigan.

Floral Maxi Dress

I am wearing:

Chinese Laundry Sandals (I’ve had these forever) I think I bought them from Marshalls or from Macys.

Hobo bag is Nine West Bag (old).

I wore this  yesterday to the Italian Ferrari and Friends Concorso that was  held in the next town over. You can see  a few of the Italian cars that were present on my instagram account.

Beautiful dress Natasha! The print is lovely! I agree with you also about maxi dresses not being appropriate for the office.

Chica, you look fabulous! I’ve been really wanting to try out some maxi dresses this summer. I love the tropical/tribal vibe of this dress and talk about an awesome statement necklace! Love, love it! :)

Hi Steph,
Thanks so much for the compliment. I think the dress works on any body style and I can’t wait to see how you style yours.

I can confirm that I’ve worn not one maxi dress this summer, which seems so unfair! I can’t seem to find the perfect length. When I find the perfect one it’s too long. Sigh.

Hi Stesha,
You might want to hook up with a great tailor. Unless, they have some kind of fab detailing on the bottom, it should be really easy for an experienced tailor to hem it to your length.

Aw really? I wear maxi dresses to work all the time (I’m even wearing one today!). I think that it depends on its styling. I do love your maxi dress though. The bright floral print is very flattering and fun!

Hi Fran,
You and I both have the luxury of working in law offices where we are allowed to express our personal style. My job used to have really strict dress codes, but one of my co-workers wore shorts on Friday and NO-ONE said anything at all to her. I was a little shocked… Regardless though, I think we should all exercise discretion in what we chose to for office environments of this type. The maxi dress is a little gowny (I totally made up that word). It’s long, clingy and totally too sexy for the office. )-:

This is a great dress…so fresh and pretty!

I do agree that maxi dresses aren’t really office appropriate…

Phew, glad I am not the only one who feels that a maxi dress is not for the office.
