When I saw the graffiti covered walls of skate park in Hartford, Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit” popped into my head and I almost did the wave. Instead of the wave, I went for something far more complex and several doses of prescription strength ibuprofen later I am still regretting that decision.
There weren’t any music or fly beats emanating from anywhere, and the must have b-boy instrument, the boombox, wasn’t present but that didn’t stop the kids (See Will Wexford Park Ever Reach Its Potential) from showing off their perfected danced moves…or me. Anyways, I should have just watched and not join the the small group of dancers that were hanging out in the park.
What I Wore:
The temperatures are beginning to drop here in Connecticut. Our highs are reaching in the upper 70′s, in lieu of upper 90′s as it was a few week ago. With the cooler weather, I decided for the third time this summer to bust out the summer leather (vegan vest $20 on eBay) and paired it with these snake print shorts from Dots ($10). I picked up the lace-up, wedge boots at Marshalls, maybe two years ago and they were sitting in my closet collecting fur, until I finally took them out for walk on Sunday.
