Despite the recent dustup with IFB, I am going to put my feelings aside and attend the conference. Besides, my tickets are non-refundable and I am really looking forward to being in the same room with Iman. Here is my very long review of the Fall ’11 conference. The last paragraph, is probably the most valuable for blog conference newbies. Now That IFBCon is Over. Next year, I think I am going to shoot for LuckyFabb and the She’s Connected conference in Toronto sounds pretty interesting. Here are a few links which will hopefully help you to answer, why you should go, how you can follow online and what you should wear.
- Laurie from TipJunkie.com has a really cool list of Reasons to Attend a Blog Conference.
- Check out the BlogStylist’s 12 Ways to Follow a Blog Conferences Online.
- If you are going to a fashion focused conference, I would pick your most stylish outfit (something that is true to your own aesthetics and brand, but one that will help you to stand out and take you from day to night.). Here is some inspiration: The gals over at Girls’ Lunch Out and SITS give some fabulous tips on What to wear to a Blog Conference and What to Wear: A Blog Conference Guide. It’s a little casual, but Tamia’s outfit in this post would be perfect for a blog conference. Fire Engine Red. She also has a great video on the same. What to Wear to Fashion Events.
- I am not in agreement regardin the camera (DSLRs? Can you say bulky and heavy?) but here are two great posts on What to bring. What to take to a Blogging conference.

This was a perfect post after last week’s #BLMchat. I had to share on Twitter! Adding the Fashion Forward Conference to my events to attend in my future :)

Thanks Kerissa,
My “blogging” posts are usually conceived after spending time wondering or searching for something blogging related. I am glad that people are finding this post helpful.

Due to my work schedule, I wont’ be able to make to any of these conferences this year, but I’ll look to you to pass on any important “must know” info. Thanks so much.

Hi Sheila,
As you can see, conference prices can run pretty high. I am limiting myself to two per year (ok, three but wordcamp is so cheap that it’s almost free). Blogging is ever evolving so I think its critical that we stay on top of technology and trends most of which are revealed at these conferences. If I had only listened last September to the advice on pinterest and instagram….
Thank you so much for including us. Great post!
Hi Tina, no problem. Including the links served a few purposes. You all had content that I thought was relevant to my post. I also used the opportunity to introduce my readers to other bloggers. Finally, as you may have notice, this post includes people I met at BBCPhilly. What better way to keep in touch.

Thanks for all of the great links. I especially appreciate the posts on what to wear to a blogging conference as I’ll be attending ifbcon for my first time this year. I’ve really been struggling with shoes as my cute shoes aren’t necessarily the most comfortable.

Hi Corleen. I will be at IFBCon too. I am keeping my converses in my bag, just in case and especially because I will need practical shoes for getting around New York (train, bus, cab). Last year I saw women negotiating the slippery floors with stillettos and platforms. I can’t deal. Lol!
