What I Wore: The Cliche Little Black Dress

So this is my situation, I am working from 9-5 today and then later on this evening I want to check out an art exhibit that opens with a swanky little reception. My purpose in going… I want to see the art pieces, but I am also going in the hopes that I can take a few photos for new content for my blog and maybe even network a little, in the relationship department that is.

I know the little black dress for a day to evening look is cliche, but honestly, it’s really the best option. This particular one which was a Target clearance rack find, is made of some kind of thick stretch material that will keep me warm, won’t wrinkle, repels accidental spills (I’m prone to them) and  will help to keep me a little covert when I whip out the Canon to start documeting.

IMG_0570_ArtI threw on this statement necklace to help jazz up the dress and opted for these funky Sole Society lace-up booties in lieu of pumps.

  1. Love the dress! I love anything that is a stretchy knit as they are usually so much more comfortable to wear! And the shoes are super cute!
I see your bag matches your shoes…are you a die-hard “shoes and bag must match”?
I used to be…but lately I’m going with a black bag with any color shoes.
Any rules or hints on this?

    • Matchy, matchy is in!!! Lol, no I am not a die hard person on matching accessories. I actually think it looks contrived. It was just coincidence that mine did.

  2. I love it all and this pose will definitely get you more networking options. . .Enjoy!
