I received the above three Bioré products for consideration and review on my blog. I am a long time acne sufferer and I didn’t want to pass on the opportunity to test this product to see if it would work with my adult acne. Before I move forward, I just want to give this brief back story of my skin. My face used to be dry and now it’s oily. Whenever I use any acne face wash it dries my skin out and leaves my skin with dry spots and a grayish hue. Recently, I finally found something that works, but that’s for another blog post. However, I stopped using that product so that I could try the Bioré and I was actually happy with it.
What I got!
Bioré Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser ($4.69)– A salicylic acid acne treatment that invigorates and cools as it removes over 99% of dirt and oil that can cause blemishes. An oil free cleanser that helps defend against blemishes before they start. This refreshing liquid cleanser targets and removes dirt and oil that can cause blemishes, leaving you with clear skin.
Bioré Blemish Fighting Astringent – ($4.64)A salicylic acid acne treatment that deep cleans, tones, and treats blemishes for clear pores. Go beyond cleaning and actually treat blemishes with this powerful astringent. Salicylic acid is the key to this power-packed toner that penetrates pores to help treat blemishes and reduce breakouts, making acne one less thing to stress about.
Bioré Acne Clearing Scrub – ($5.49)Targets deep-down dirt and oil for a clearer, healthier complexion in only 2 days. This mandarin mint scented scrub contains Skin Purifying Technology – an exclusive formula not only treats blemishes, over time it helps prevent new ones from forming by clearing away impurities. It’s gentle enough to use every day too!
Packaging – I love the pump of the Bioré Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser. I don’t have to touch anything and the product remains sanitized. I don’t really like the packaging of the other two because they are both flip type tops that I am able to touch and/or forget to close. When you accept how much bacteria accumulates on your hands, etc you will also learn to appreciate any beauty product that comes in a pump.
Smell – The Acne Clearing Scrub has a perfumey smell to it. The press info describes it as a mandarin mint scented. The toner smells a bit like mouthwash and the Blemish Fighting Cleanser, has a light, really fresh scent to it.
Feel Upon Application– All three products have either menthol or eucalyptus in it which left a tingling feeling on my face. The Acne clearing scrub has beaded particles which helps to exfoliate the skin. Please note that the particles were not as, as sharp (yes, sharp) as the particles in St. Ives and Proactiv. It had a gritty feel, like sand almost, but they were rounded, not jagged. The Blemish Fighting Cleanser suds easy, if you like that kind of thing. I used mine with Sephora’s precision pore cleansing pad.
Prevent with Bioré Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser. Of the three, this is my favorite product. It doesn’t dry my skin out like other products I’ve tried. I also love the way it lathers and compliments my precision pore cleansing pad. I will definitely buy this again.
Treat with Bioré Blemish Fighting Astringent – I’m honestly not a big fan. I think it’s the alcohol that left my skin dry. After noticing this, I now only use it on my t-zone, and right before I apply moisturizer. I would not buy this again.
Fight Acne with Bioré Acne Clearing Scrub. I like this product! It only has 1% salicyclic acid and it leaves my skin glowing. I also love that the particles don’t feel as if they were digging into or cutting my skin like I’ve experienced with similar products. I also will definitely buy this again.
I only sprouted one pimple on my left cheek but I honestly believe that has do with my diet of pork and candy (yeah, sometimes its hard to resist) than a topical issue. In conclusion, the system works for adult acne! Well, it worked for me. I also love the the price and this makes a really great drug store/budget friendly option for the treatment of adult acne.
