I didn’t realize that eating healthy could actually taste good until I tried Carrington Farms Flax paks. As part of their month long #CarringtonMayOnTheMove campaign I received samples of their Flax Paks, Flax Hemp Paks, Coconut Oil Paks and Flax Chia Paks. The boxes contained 12 pre-packaged travel friendly, on the go inserts that you can easily slip into a lunch bag or purse for use at the office, gym or where ever you go.
You might already be familiar with the benefits of coconut oil, but if you were like me, clueless about this super seed, here is a little bit about what WebMD has to say about the benefits:
People use flaxseed for many conditions related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including ongoing constipation, colon damage due to overuse of laxatives, diarrhea, inflammation of the lining of the large intestine (diverticulitis), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or irritable colon, sores in the lining of the large intestine (ulcerative colitis), inflammation of the lining of the stomach (gastritis), and inflammation of the small intestine (enteritis).
Flaxseed is also used for disorders of the heart and blood vessels, including high cholesterol, “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), high blood pressure(hypertension), and coronary artery disease.
Flaxseed is also used for acne, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), kidney problems in people with a disease called systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE),symptoms of menopause, and breast pain. It is also used for diabetes, obesity and weight loss, HIV/AIDS, depression, bladder infections, malaria, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Other uses include treatment of sore throat, upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), and cough.
GI tract problems and high cholesterol are health issues that are unfortunately, my life. I was also in the midst of an upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) when I tried the paks last week. I can’t say for sure if it addressed my URTI but I do in fact feel a lot better and things have been definitely… errr….”moving” extremely well since I started adding the fiber rich seeds into my yogurt and smoothies. AND because it tastes so good, these conveniently sized on the go paks are now a staple item on my grocery list.
Don’t miss out on Carrington Farms 4 Paks 4 May special deal. All four paks are only $20 this month.
