Macy’s brought the glamour of Fashion Week to the Crossgates Mall on located in Albany, New York recently. This free event included a shopping party and presentation, featuring fall looks from our favorite designers. Here are the five must haves that you need to add to your closet to update your wardrobe this fall.
Burgundy, oxblood, wine, berry —call it what you like, just get something, anything in this color. The color has moved from trend to staple and can be worn season to season. This color came down the runway in knits and nail polish, lipstick (yes, they sell nail polish at Macy’s now), in florals and a shirt dress.
2. Faux Fur!
If you love the look, but have a conscience, faux fur is the way to go this season. I love that the stylists paired this GUESS – fur contrast-panel vest with a short sleeve dress and booties. Fabulous!
3. Black Quilted Bag
There is nothing that says luxe like a black quilted bag. I love them because you can dress them up (well, smaller ones) or you can throw on a t-shirt and skinny jeans and it would still give that same luxe appearance. Macys.com offers a great selection of black quilted bags. The Calvin Klein and Michael Kors are definitely to die for, but my eye is on the Betsey Johnson Macy’s Exclusive Quilted Backpack.
4. Smart Shoes!
Women’s ankles and knees are celebrating the return of the smart shoe. So long stillettos and ankle twisting platforms. Macy’s has a great selection of mid and low heel shoes to chose from this season.
If burgundy, oxblood, wine, berry —whatever you call it, is not your thing then check out their selection of muted grayish, beigish tones that are in stores this fall at Macys.
