It’s holiday party season and for me, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. The invitations have already been received, and more may be on their way still. This means women everywhere are looking through their closets and online for fashion inspiration. Well, here are five inspiring styles presented by myself and four other fashionable 40 something ladies. There is a mix of everything here to inspire your holiday outfits; inspiration for women who don’t want to wear a dress, ideas of how to glamorize an otherwise ordinary dress/outfit, and sequins galore.

I bought this dress in September to wear to a semi-formal event. I really wanted to wear something with color, but I immediately fell in love with the vintage look of the dress. I chose to wear these booties with the dress in lieu of stilletto’s because as you may know, I can’t wear heels for long. These shoes are not flat but it has a comfortable sturdy heel and offers support for my failing ankles. I really hate that this is my reality but my foot problems started after years of wearing really high heels. I only take those out when I am going to a theater or dinner where I know I will be seated for a long time. I think the iconic red lips, burgundy shoes and glitzy accessories gives the dress a holiday party vibe.
What I am wearing:
Necklace: Laila Rowe (New York City) | Dress: American Living three-quarter sleeve striped dress (Macy’s |
Shoes: Clarks Artisan Women’s Kadri Alexa Lace-up booties (Macy’s) | Lipstick: Hourglass Opaque Rogue Liquid Lipstick in Icon
I just want to send a big shout to Dixie Nichols of Inside Outer Style for inviting me to participate in this month’s style collab.
